Jump Roping to Lose Weight

While high intensity workouts using strength training machines will help burn fat adding in a regiment of jump roping will shred those last stubborn pounds. Jump roping is very beneficial for your heart and a great way to get more definition.

Jump roping is a fast effective fat burning workout because it releases massive amounts of HGH. HGH is a natural hormone that the body releases to burn body fat. A high level of HGH in your body is the quickest route to burning body fat! Low intensity cardio doesn’t release HGH. Making the absolute best way to increase HGH is performing high intensity cardio for 30-60 seconds, followed by a minute of rest or low intensity cardio.

Jump roping makes it very easy to reach a high intensity level very quickly. Jump roping also will increase your vertical jump quickly. If you are playing any sports an increased jumping ability will serve you very well.

Here is a 15 minute fat shredding workout:

  • Set a timer
  • Jump Rope for 3 minutes at a slow warm up pace
  • Rest for 30 seconds
  • Jump rope as fast as possible for 60 seconds
  • Rest for 30 seconds
  • Jump Rope as quickly as possible for 60 seconds
  • Rest for 30 seconds
  • Repeat this cycle for up to 15-20 minutes

You can add a lot of variety to your jump roping workout routine. Try jumping on one foot, switch feet, double spins, criss-cross, and more. Adding variation can help but be sure to keep up the speed and intensity. This workout will absolutely burn fat but if you immediately follow it up an additional 20 minutes on an exercise bike or stair master your results will be even more awesome.
